Creol Festival
Come and photograph the island of dreams during the “Festival Kreol”! You will discover… an incredible sea, a green landscape cultivated with sugarcane, ancient Hindu religious ceremonies, tropical waterfalls, forests, tea plantation and many more. Furthermore, during the FIK, you will get the opportunity to touch the Creole soul of the island, fruit of the encounter of people of different origins.
The Festival International Kreol (FIK), organized by the Mauritian government, is an authentic kermess that celebrates “Créolité” in its various aspects: handicrafts, art, music, dance and poetry. During the eight days of the festival, follow one another fashion show, exhibitions, music concerts, for instance the “Jalsa Creol”. The show is alternated by literary events, jazz under starlit nights and evenings dedicated to the “Séga” – the Creol dance “par excellence”. On the beach of Le Morne village, ballad-singers tell timeless legends to the public gathered around a bonfire. At the end, at Les Salines, at the door of the capital, a big musical event – le Gran Konser – that gets together groups and artists coming from La Réunion, Mauritius and Seychelles.

The cost of the workshop includes: airplane round trip ticket with Air Mauritius, the transferts from and to the airport in Mauritius, the transport during the photo-seminar, hotel on half board basis, and the tuition itself.
IMPORTANT!!! It is compulsory to travel with a passport valid for at least six months counting from the date of departure. The visa to entry for Europeans, Americans and Canadians is not necessary. Neither any vaccination is required.
Insurance: you are advised to take out a health/accident/repatriation insurance and if you wish, a flight cancellation policy as well.
Materials to bring: a pair of mountaneering boots, a pair of sandals, a swimming costume, a beach towel, a hat, light clothing, rainproof coat, a pair of trousers, sunglasses, solar protection cream.
